CINNAMON (Cinnamonum Zeylanicum)

Cinnamon essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the outer bark of the tree.
The oil is golden yellow to brown in colour. Cinnamon bark essential oil has a spicy, earthy, potent, perfume-quality aroma.
USES: In aromatherapy Cinnamon bark essential oil is used for constipation, exhaustion, flatulence, lice, low blood pressure, rheumatism, scabies and stress. Can be used as an additive in soaps.
CAUTION : Always dilute Cinnamon essential oil to 1% or less in a carrier oil before application to the skin.
Cinnamon oil is a mucous membrane irritant and strong skin sensitizer.
Avoid in alcoholism, in haemophilia, in prostatic cancer, with kidney and liver problems and if taking anticoagulants.
